Maison Margiela S/S 24

Maison Margiela’s Artisan Runway had such a huge impact on the fashion scene for 2024. In ode to this show, Lotte created a replica garment of Gwendoline Christie’s garment and the Maison Margiela runway. This was created using CLO3D, Mixamo, DAZ 3D, UE, and Adobe After Effects.

The Walk Simulation

I started by making a DAZ 3D model that could imitate the corset shape of the body. Then I create the flat pattern on CLO3D based on the avatar, while testing walk cycles with different fabrics. Once I found a fabric that best suited the lay of the garment, I recorded the rendering of the walk cycle. The next step was to bring the walk simulation into Unreal Engine.

Unreal Engine

After confirming the walk cycle of the avatar doesnt interfere with the fabric, I took the avatar to UE with the CLO3d Livsync add on. From there I created a church background, effects, fog, and lighting. The recording of the avatar walk cycle and background was also created in UE.
